July 8 & 10:Fishing Soft Hackles: Since first offering this class, it has been one of our more popular. It will fill fast, always does. Since Sylvester Nemes reintroduced these old yet very effective patterns and the way to fish them in, Soft Hackles, we have become big fans. Theses simple yet effective patterns can be highly productive when fished correctly under the right conditions. This class will cover the patterns, effective techniques for fishing them, and understand aquatic hatches that will optimize your success when fishing soft hackles. This class is limited to 10 students.
Cost: $50.00 Time: 6:30pm Location: Shop & Provo River
July 15 & 17: Fishing Pocket Water - Water allures us to those long broad runs that flow smooth and flat, often keeping us from paying attention to the more turbulent world known in the trout fishing arena as "Pocket Water". These areas are some our favorite waters to fish. Not only are they productive, but they are often overlooked. This class will exlore the riggings, flies and fishing techniques we use to have success in fishing these waters.
Cost: $50.00 Time: 6:30pm Location: Shop & Provo River
August 12 & 14: Fly Fishing Hatches - This is one of the most fun aspects of the game of fly fishing, yet it can create some of the most frustrating circumstances. We will look all the insect families that trout key on; their stages, patterns, and on the water stratedgines for having success matching hatches.
Cost: $50.00 Time: 6:30pm Location: Shop & Provo River
Sepember 2 & 4: Fishing Terrestrial: As hatches diminish as the season winds down, terrestrials become an important part of a trout diet. Most angler approach fishing terrestrials with a hopper imitation of some kind, but unless you put as much thought into how you fish terrestrials as you do mayflies and the other aquatic insects that trout key on, you are limiting your success. This class will start in a class room, breaking down the various terrestrials that are important to a trout, their season, and fishing techniques. It will finish on the water, where after you learn to identify key terrestrial habitat and effective ways to present a fly to get better results, you'll be able to put your new found skills to the test.
